About

Lincoln SQL Server User Group was founded in 2011 by John Danley to fulfill a need for a place for SQL Server Professionals in the Lincoln Nebraska area to network and to learn more about SQL Server and other database technologies. John was inspired by who else, but Steve Jones and his presentation “Building Your Own Brand” which Steve presented at SQL Saturday 66 in Colorado Springs. When John got back to Lincoln he contacted PASS and began working to establish the local user group.

In July of 2016 we incorporated in the State of Nebraska as Lincoln SQL Server User Group, Inc.. Shortly after that we applied for and received our 501c3 status.

We have held 3 SQL Saturday events. Our first event was in 2011 at the University of Nebraska. The second event was in 2016 at Mahoney State Park between Lincoln and Omaha. In 2018 we also held our third event at Mahoney State Park.

Now in 2021 PASS has ceased to operate, but we are still here! Along with the rest of the #SQLFamily we are seeking a new way forward, watching to see what the community builds out of the ashes.
